Sun Ra & His Astro Infinity Arkestra
Holiday For Soul Dance
With a series of non-original compositions - Tin Pan Alley standards (two by Gershwin) an a re-arrangement of 'Dorothy's Dance' by revered Arkestra trumpeter Phil Cohran - 'Holiday For Soul Dance' is by far the closest to a mainstream jazz album released by Sun Ra and his acolytes. Compiled from recordings made in Chicago around July 1960, it was released on Saturn a decade later.
